About Musicrush

Musicrush is a dating site that starts with what you listen to. You connect a music service or answer a few questions about how music makes you feel, and we turn that into your Music DNA: a profile of your taste across five dimensions from music-psychology research. Then we show you people whose taste resonates with yours.

Taste is easy to talk about and says something about you. Researchers have spent two decades linking what people listen to with who they are, and a shared song is a far better opening line than a selfie gives you. The research is all on our science page, and the longer reads are in the Journal, where the research claims are tied to named studies.

Nobody has shown that music taste predicts lasting love, and we won't pretend otherwise. Resonance is a hypothesis informed by research: a good reason to start a conversation, not a verdict on two people.
